Matthew R. Rungaitis

Matthew R. Rungaitis's practice areas concentrate on complex business and commercial litigation, including equipment leasing disputes, secured transactions and fraud. Mr. Rungaitis also handles consumer credit collections for large financial institutions.

Mr. Rungaitis received his undergraduate degree in independent studies from the University of Minnesota, at Minneapolis. In 1990, he earned his law degree from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific, where he was the recipient of the Raymond Henry Biele II Memorial Scholarship. He also won the American Jurisprudence Award for Remedies.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Rungaitis had extensive experience in handling elder abuse, medical malpractice and complex litigation cases throughout all phases of trial and trial preparation. He has successfully argued before the California Appellate Court, leading to published opinions, including Cryolife v. Superior Court (2003) 110 Cal.App.4th 1145 and Rewald v. San Pedro Peninsula Hospital (1994) 27 Cal.App.4th 480.

Mr. Rungaitis is a frequent lecturer on a variety of legal topics, including elder abuse and medical malpractice. He was listed in the 2007 edition of California Super Lawyers in the field of elder law. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

An accomplished litigator with more than eighteen years of experience in both state and federal courts, Mr. Rungaitis is admitted to the U.S. District Court of California, Central District. He also is licensed to practice law in Arizona.
