Susan A. Gruskin

Susan A. Gruskin’s practice areas concentrate on business and commercial litigation, and secured transactions.

Ms. Gruskin received her undergraduate degree in 1982 from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she participated in the London abroad program. She earned her law degree from the University of San Diego in 1985. During law school Ms. Gruskin was an active member of the Appellate Moot Court Board, the Chicago National Moot Court Team, and the Roger J. Traynor Moot Court Team. She also was the recipient of an Appellate Advocacy Scholarship.

While in law School, Ms. Gruskin also served as an extern to the Hon. Robert O. Staniforth, Justice of the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Gruskin had extensive experience in handling complex business litigation cases throughout all phases of trial and trial preparation. Her victories include obtaining a $1.4 million verdict for specific performance involving water front property, obtaining a favorable settlement in a $50 million unfair competition lawsuit, and a defense verdict in a seven-week jury trial where the plaintiff’s initial demand was $4 million. Her published cases include Rubin v. Green (1993) 4 Cal.4th 1187.

An accomplished litigator with more than twenty-five years of experience in both state and federal courts, Ms. Gruskin is admitted to the U.S. District Court of California, Central District. She is a prior member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the Beverly Hills Barristers, where she served as an officer and on the Board of Governors.
